Capabilities

Threat and Risk Assessment

Security and continuity can longer be regarded as passive or purely physical provisions, but must now include comprehensive and auditable risk assessments, combined with an integrated and frequently updated preventative environment. Employers’ liabilities, product liability, environmental and social legislation, corporate regulation and civil law all place heightened security and resilience burdens on decision makers.

Vectra’s threat assessment and risk analysis services is aimed at providing a ‘truly anticipative’ programme that is the process of understanding the likelihood that a threat will harm an asset with some severity of consequence and providing decision makers with information that will enable them to decide on the action to be taken.

Business Continuity Management, Contingency, and Disaster Recovery Planning

In the modern global environment, the need for business continuity planning is constantly highlighted by the rapid increase and dependency of business technologies, and supply chain complexities, and a series of headline-grabbing disasters caused by and including power failures, fuel shortages, storms, floods, and terrorism - to name but a few.

The risks to business are many and varied and it has never been more important for your organisation to consider and plan for the prospect of an incident interrupting your operations, thus enabling your operations to continue

We have provided full lifecycle BCM services to a wide range of clients including Network Rail, Tubelines, Royal Bank of Scotland, the Hampshire Constabulary and EADS Astrium.

Emergency Response and Crisis Management

Crises can have dramatic effects on any type of organisation, impacting people, profit and reputation. An organisation cannot always prevent incidents from occurring, but it can reduce the risk and associated impacts by ensuring that a robust and efficient plan is in place, and that everyone within the organisation not only understands their role in continuity but is also trained and rehearsed accordingly.

Vectra can provide detailed consultancy that enables your organisation to respond quickly and effectively to any emergency or disruption it faces.

Training, Exercising and Simulation

The key to any effective response system is planning and training: identifying and defining key personnel - their roles, responsibilities and duties - and the resources required to mitigate the effects of an incident.

The provision of Incident, Crisis Management, and Training Services is crucial to developing key skills, knowledge and competence, and to rehearse and validate new or existing Emergency Action Plans - whether in compliance of regulatory requirements, or in the pursuit of a robust operational response and continuity capability.

Vectra provide a comprehensive Crisis Management service including co-operative learning and exercising in order to help all responders focus attention across the many varied issues they may face during an incident.

Crisis Communications and Media Training

Dealing with the media, especially in a crisis, can be one of the most crucial things you do for your company. It is important to recognise that what you say and do can have a huge impact on how your company is perceived by the public.

Incidents and crises may well threaten the integrity or reputation of your company, usually by adverse or negative media attention - legal disputes, theft, accident, fire, flood or manmade disaster could be attributed to your company - with profound consequences, especially where, in the eyes of the media or general public, your company did not react in the appropriate or expeditious manner.

If communications are handled correctly, any incident damage can be minimized, so it is crucial to have a media relations plan that will enable you to maintain a controlled passage of relevant, honest and useful information.

Our experienced trainers will put you and your staff through engaging scenarios and exercises so that if the worse ever does happen, they will be able to handle the media in the best way possible.

Bomb Blast Mitigation

With heightened political instabilities worldwide, today’s organisations have come to accept bomb blast mitigation as being an instrumental element of the security process.

Through computer modelling Vectra can determine the effects of a blast on existing and new installations even at the design stage. We offer guidance and advice on improving blast mitigation and can project manage its implementation.

The resilience of a building is also vitally important. We can offer advice to architects during the design stage of a building and for site layouts where bomb blast stand off distances are a critical factor.
