Delivering Tomorrow’s Transportation Systems
The Systems Challenge
Today's transportation solutions rely on many elements or systems – including Management, Information and Control Systems.
The growing integration of such Systems gives new business management opportunities. However, the increased complexity gives decision makers delivering these systems new and novel challenges.
Management, development and integration of systems becomes increasingly difficult, affecting communication and cooperation among the organisations and disciplines involved; and inevitably increases cost.
Delivering tomorrow’s transportation systems needs a different approach.
The Systems Solutions
Established through supporting engineering programmes on major rail infrastructure projects, our Systems Engineering Group offers services that aim to save costs by:
- Ensuring that a system can perform to specification and be economically supported throughout its lifetime,
- Optimising the process of specifying, procuring or introducing a system,
- Identifying and applying a structured testing approach to ensure demonstration of compliance,
- Securing system delivery by taking steps to manage technical risks.
Additionally, through our experience, we can take into account processes acceptable to regulatory authorities. We have particular experience in dealing with the technical and operational changes necessary to introduce new systems into service.
Our experience centres upon “first application” projects, where the technology is new to an organisation or environment. We have encountered and understood the problems faced by both buyer and supplier, providing methods to manage systems delivery with optimum cost.
